2014 Report on the State of the Environment in China

2014 Report on the State of the Environment in China provides the information on existing conditions of the pollution discharge, freshwater, marine, forest, atmospheric, acoustic, radiation, grassland, the natural and ecological environment of China

The report concludes that despite the volatile international situation China has pushed forward the sustainable, stable economic and social development.  A new step forward was made in the prevention and control of air, water, and soil pollution through the implementation and preparation of the Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Air Pollution, Water Pollution, and Soil Pollution. The annual target of total emission reduction was achieved in 2014. The environmental legal system, law enforcement, and environmental risk management were upgraded. Nuclear and radiation safety control were established and the reform in the eco-environmental field advanced smoothly. The report also suggests that environmental protection played the due role in optimizing economic development.
