The German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) (formerly known as: German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE)) is one of the leading research institutions and think tanks for global development and international cooperation worldwide. It is located in the UN City of Bonn, Germany. IDOS’s work is based on the interplay between Research, Policy Advice and Training. It builds bridges between theory and practice and was founded in 1964.
IDOS offers training programmes for university graduates and young professionals. The Institute’s Postgraduate Training Programme is concentrated on courses dedicated to development- and globalisation-related themes. The cornerstone of the Programme is field research, which provide trainees with an opportunity to gain practical experience by participating in policy advice-orientated research projects. The Managing Global Governance (MGG) programme brings together actors of governmental and non-governmental organisations from important rising powers and Germany / Europe to jointly contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. MGG provides an innovative platform for training, knowledge cooperation and policy dialogue.
