Dr. Bibhu Prasad Nayak is currently working as an Associate Professor at Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS), Hyderabad Campus in India. He is an economist by training and got his doctorate in Natural Resource Management from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has been working on environmental and resource governance issues and his areas of interest include community based institutions, social capital and collective action, economics of conservation and rural livelihood systems. He has extensive experience in working on inter-disciplinary research projects and is familiar in working with teams with diverse disciplinary trainings and multi-cultural background. He has travelled extensively in rural areas of different states in India for fieldwork and worked on several research projects and consultancies in the governance of natural resources like water, forests and other village commons. Prior to TISS, he worked for TERI, New Delhi and ISEC, Bengaluru in India.
